Amazing trip to Italy...

Message publié initalement en mars 2011

During the week before the winter holidays, from February the 22nd to the 26th, the students who attend Latin courses went on a trip to discover Toscana.
On Monday, they left Mende at 6 p.m. and arrived at Florence on the following morning. They visited this amazing city by walking in the streets, doing shopping; they also visited the national Museum of Bargello and had some free time to do whatever they wanted.
Then on Wednesday morning, these students visited Arezzo, the city where some scenes of the film “Life is beautiful” directed by Roberto Benigni were shot. And in the afternoon, they went to Cortone city where they visited the Etruscan museum and admired the view.
On Thursday morning, they went to San Gimignano. They roamed the streets to discover the city. And in the afternoon, they visited Sienna where they strolled in the town. They also walked along on the “piazza del Campo”.
To finish this trip, the students, on their last day in Italy, returned to Florence where they discovered the Boboli gardens which they found really beautiful. These gardens belonged to the Medicis family and are really huge. In the afternoon, they visited the Uffizi museum, one of the most famous museums of Europe.
And then, after a lovely week full of interesting discoveries, the travelers went back to the bus and did the long route to Mende with a lot of fantastic souvenirs in their heads. The whole group thanks all the teachers for this good experience.
